You get one of these with Mario Kart Wii, but if you want to play head-to-head at home you'll need another. OK, strictly speaking you don't, because it doesn't add any new functionality to the Wii remote (which simply fits inside, with a mechanically linked bigger "B" button) but the enhancement provided to gameplay is surprising. Don't be put off by all the rubbish sports packs from the past, this is an accessory worth using, and totally consistent with Nintendo's usual excellent design and build standards.
Good points:
  • Exceptionally well designed and manufactured - solid and reassuring throughout
  • Really does enhance enjoyment of compatible games
Bad points:
  • Does not work with remote jackets
  • Best to remove the remote wrist-strap also - it becomes too tight to wear, and flaps around annoyingly otherwise
  • Probably only suitable for "fun" driving games, due to limited button functionality
